Thomasville, Ga. (June 2025) — Legacy Village at Plantation Manor, a premier assisted living and memory care community in Thomasville, is excited to welcome Carol Whitney as Executive Director. Whitney brings over 30 years of experience serving seniors in independent living, assisted living and memory care communities.

Whitney was drawn to a career in senior living while studying Exercise and Sports Science at the University of Georgia. She was assigned to a cardiac rehab group which primarily served seniors and immediately fell in love with caring for them. Whitney has worked in senior living in a variety of roles including an Assisted Living Administrator and Regional Marketing Coordinator. While she attempted an early retirement, Whitney notes that she simply could not stay away, and she is passionate about providing the highest quality of care to the residents of Legacy Village at Plantation Manor.

“To care for those who once cared for us is an honor. I am so eager to serve the amazing residents and team members of Legacy Village. The history of this community is absolutely beautiful, but the residents are what make is so special. I am thankful for the opportunity to be a part of this incredible team,” Whitney said.

“As someone who has built their career around serving seniors and improving their quality of life, Carol is the perfect person for this position. She brings vibrant energy, strong leadership and a true passion for serving seniors. We are excited to have her as a part of the Legacy family,” states Becky Ballas, Regional Director of Operations for Legacy Village at Plantation Manor.

Having lived in Thomasville for the last 24 years, Whitney claims it as home and is eager to become more engaged in the community through local civic groups and other organizations. When not working, Whitney enjoys spending time with her family, including fly fishing with her husband, Charlie, or being “Gigi” to four terrific grandchildren. She can also be found cheering on her alma mater, the Georgia Bulldogs, or supporting local businesses in downtown Thomasville
