Resident Spotlight: Locket Lee
Born in Miami, Florida, Legacy Village at Plantation Manor resident Locket Lee moved with her family to Fort Lauderdale as a young child, and over the years, it became the place she truly called home. Raised in the sun-filled city, Locket grew up surrounded by family and friends, eventually graduating from high school there. She still considers Fort Lauderdale the place where her roots run deepest.
After high school, Locket followed her passion for animals all the way to Tennessee Technical College, where she studied animal science. She once dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, but realized along the way that the thought of performing surgery on animals was something she just couldn’t bear. Even as her career path shifted, Locket’s love for animals only grew stronger.
She eventually built a career in the stock market—a far cry from her early dreams, but one she made her own. Life took another turn when Locket married and moved to Texas. Her memories of those four years are filled with stories of heat, growth, and big life changes.
Locket’s journey next brought her to Brinson, Georgia, where she truly made herself a home. She spent her days working in the yard, growing beautiful flowers, and restoring life to her home—one that had stood empty for quite some time before she lovingly brought it back to life.
Animals have always been a constant by Locket’s side. Over the years, she’s cared for four dogs, two cats, a hamster, and even a mouse. Her deep love for animals isn’t just reflected in the way she cares for them—it also shows in her artistry. Locket has a real talent for creating detailed charcoal drawings of her animal companions, capturing their character and spirit in each piece.
We are incredibly grateful to have Locket as part of our Legacy Village at Plantation Manor community. Her kindness, her creativity, and her love for life’s simple pleasures make every day a little brighter.
